Day 1

Tastes of Dublin or Golf at Portmarnock

Welcome to Dublin, a modern multi-cultural city that embraces its past and exudes an enduring sense of fun. Upon arrival you will be transferred privately to your city center hotel and meet your Local Host – a proud local who will settle you in with the warmest of welcomes, answer questions and provide local tips and recommendations. Later, visit 14 Henrietta St to experience over three hundred years of city life in the walls of this one address. From its grand Georgian beginnings to the tenement dwellings of later years, the building’s hidden history is revealed.

Day 2

Tastes of Dublin or Golf at Portmarnock

This morning, meet your Local Specialist for the ‘Delicious Dublin’ food tour.’ Bring your appetite and enjoy the best of the city’s diverse culinary scene, as you indulge in everything from ice cream to Irish stew. Later, enjoy a sixty minute masterclass in the art of making whiskey cocktails at the Jameson Distillery. Learn about exciting new methods, drink like the locals, and discover how this ancient spirit has changed with the times.

For golfer's tee times and transfers can be arranged at Portmarnock or one of Dublin’s Championship golf courses.

Day 3

Journey to Cork

You are now ready for your driving adventure. First up, visit Glendalough, the ‘Valley of the Two Lakes,’ famous for its early monastic ruins and scenic setting. Be sure to find St. Kevin’s cross.  - legend holds that those who can wrap their arms around it will receive their wish. The luck of the Irish will be on your side. Onto Waterford and its colorful terrace houses, cafés, and bars overlooking the quayside. Watch the master craftsmen of the House of Waterford Crystal as they create delicate works of art on your private tour with a Local Specialist. Continue to Cork via the Copper Coast Drive and witness Waterford’s spectacular coastline.

Day 4

Cork City & Magical Gardens

This morning, meet your Local Specialist and set out on a Cork City ramble. Cork, more commonly known in Ireland as ‘The People’s Republic’, is a vibrant, inviting city that is full of local charming characters, delicious artisan food, history and culture. Gain a deeper insight into this exquisite city and its proud people. Known to be one of the most historically interesting urban walks in Ireland, learn of the waterways that run beneath the city streets, the Huguenot Quarter, the colorful and bustling markets, museums and characters that belong to Ireland’s delightful second capital city.

Visit Blarney Castle, built nearly six hundred years ago. Kiss the famous Blarney Stone and wander through this iconic spot and the beautiful gardens on your private adventure with the estate’s Gardener.

Day 5

Kinsale, Sheeps Head & on to Kenmare

Join your Local Specialist for a walking tour of Kinsale, a historic port and fishing town. Drop into the Kinsale Mead Company, for a unique insight into mead, the world’s oldest alcoholic drink, and its most important ingredient, Honey on a MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experience. Afterwards, embark on two more of Ireland’s top scenic drives as you continue your stunning journey. First is the Sheep’s Head Peninsula that forms a small but unmissable part of the Wild Atlantic Way. Second, the breathtakingBeara Peninsula that boasts wild scenery, stunning loughs and fantastic coastal views. These two Irish treasure drives will take you into the charming town of Kenmare.

Day 6

Ring of Kerry or Golf Killarney

Probably the best known of Ireland’s drives is the Iveragh Peninsula better known as the Ring of Kerry. Admire the breath-taking scenery of rugged landscapes and crashing seas and delight in traditional Irish life as you stop in quaint villages along the way. You’ll be mesmerized by this unspoiled land that has inspired artists and poets for centuries. Returning to Kenmare, enjoy the many dining options and shopping in this elegant small town.

For golfers tee times can be arranged at one of County Kerry’s Championship golf courses.

Day 7

Cliffs of Moher, or Golf Lahinch & on to Dromoland Castle

Today is another chance to keep discovering the wonders of the Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland’s awe-inspiring coastal route. Experience the Cliffs of Moher from the Atlantic Ocean on a breath-taking cruise along the five-mile shoreline. Gaze up at the sheer, craggy cliff face that rise six hundred and fifty-feet above you. Then on to bask in the royal glow of Dromoland Castle, one of the most luxurious castle hotels in Ireland. Participate in the ancient art of Falconry as you stroll through this stunning estate. This evening, you’ll enjoy fine dining at Dromoland Castle’s flagship restaurant, the Earl of Thomond. Celebrated in culinary circles for its panache, its elegance, its innovation, and the attention to detail that highlights Irish produce.

Day 8

Depart Shannon

Enjoy a leisurely Dromoland breakfast and make your way to Shannon airport, for your trip home. You will have to promise to return and complete the journey north. Safe home, go n-ardóidh an bóthar chun bualadh leat, may the road rise to meet you.
